| Volunteering Like all credit unions, Timeline depends on the services of unpaid Directors and Committee Members to represent the members and act on their behalf to manage the funds, provide strategic direction, scrutinise operations and make decisions on loans. Volunteering is great way of developing your existing skills or learning new ones. Many people find that volunteering for the credit union helps them to find work or make progress in their careers. Financial, secretarial, marketing and publicity skills are particularly welcome. Volunteering usually means giving up a few hours each month at lunch times or in the evenings. If you are a Council employee you may be entitled to time off in lieu. All volunteers receive on the job training and there are usually opportunities for formal training through the Association of British Credit Unions. If you have some time to spare, and are willing to share your enthusiasm and commitment, please fill in a volunteer application form and we will let you know as soon as a suitable vacancy arises. All Volunteers are approved by the Financial Services Authority and have access to training through ABCUL. |
